Will you be my______?

Do you remember the first time someone asked you to be their bridesmaid? Have you decided on how you will ask you friends to be a part of your special day? If you're like most people, you just ask or it's just known.

But why not make it just a little more special with a card? So many companies now offer custom cards that ask just that...Will you be my bridesmaid? Will you be my maid of honor? Will you be my flower girl? It's not much, but it does make it a little more special and gives the person a memento to hold on to.

I came across a few websites that offer these cute cards...

Jena & Ryan {Engagement}

On a sunny beach in Mexico, Ryan was snorkeling and found some beautiful shells. There was one in particular that he wanted Jena to see. When she looked, she saw more than just a shell...she also found a ring...a GORGEOUS ring. Ryan asked Jena to marry him on that beach in Mexico!

Fast forward to April 21st... I met Jena & Ryan (& Jena's sister) at Callaway Gardens for their engagement session. Callaway Gardens is perfect for engagement/bridal sessions. Jena's sister was there for hair & make-up touch ups and she was a fabulous assistant with poses! :)

Jena & her mother had already scouted out locations so by the time we got there they knew exactly where to go. We started at the chapel and ended in a wheat field. I love their engagement photos and I can't wait until their wedding this October!

It was hard to decide on but here are some of my favs...

Aren't they just a super hot couple!!! My absolute fav is lower right corner!

Joyce {Portraits}

Joyce's children are always so fun & entertaining to photograph. The last 2 times we did full family sessions & this times it was just the kids. We went to Flatrock Park and let me tell you, do not take kids to a park where other kids are playing and expect to have their full attention for pictures! lol! I think Joyce I spent most of the time trying to pull their attention to the camera while the other kids there were playing in the water. Talk about competition! Whew, a camera has nothing on Fun! lol!

Here are some of my favs...

Tasha & James {Portraits}

Two weeks ago I met Tasha & James (& kids) at the Riverwalk for some family portraits. I photographed Tasha & James' wedding back in 2007 but this time they had a new addition to the family!

They showed up in colorful matching shirts and all the boys wore matching shorts which I thought was too cute! Tasha said she wanted colorful...and that's what she got!

Here are some of my favs from their family portraits.

Jessica & Kyle {Wedding}

Last Saturday I was the second shooter for a wedding Emma needed assistance with. I tell ya, I love to be the second shooter because it's less stress!

The couple, Jessica & Kyle, were married at Bullock Springs Manor which is located in Dallas, GA. They had an outdoor wedding and it was a truly gorgeous day. This reception location is beautiful! Their guests were seated in a circle around the couple which I thought was very unique!

Here are a few images I took!
I LOVE the jumping shot...too bad the bouquet is right in the groom's face! lol

Photobucket
You'll have to check Emma's site in a few weeks for the full slideshow!
Have a great weekend!

I'm headed to Auburn tomorrow & Ellaville Sunday for two engagement sessions.

**BTW...if you know any couples who met online let me know. WTVM has a story coming up on this subject and they emailed me to see if I knew any couples for the story. They can be just dating, engaged, or already married. Just send me an email if they say they're interested.

Do You Tweet?

I have reluctantly & finally joined the world of Twitter. It's driving me crazy though because I can't seem to "tweet" from my phone. I think I've sent about 20 messages to them to verify it's my phone but I get nothing.

Anyways, feel free to follow me on Twitter. Of course it may not always be photography related since you're supposed to just update it with little blurbs about what you're currently doing.

Happy Tweeting!

Debbie & Don {Wedding}

I could literally scream about how happy I am with Debbie & Don's wedding images. It's not too often that I get to do a lot of outdoor shots at weddings. But Debbie & Don's wedding day was just too beautiful and I had to get them outside. And the results are AH-MAZING!

Debbie & Don were married April 4th at Infantry Chapel on Ft.Benning, which might I add Keith & I were married there in November of 2004...so this chapel of course is special to me! Their wedding was full of traditions from Debbie's 3 garters, yes 3...one of which she received 20 years ago when she pledged her sorority. It can only be worn twice-at initiation & your wedding day! They also incorporated the patterns from their heritage into her bouquet (florals were beautiful red tulips & white roses) & decor, she had two pins on her crinoline, her grandmother's jewlery, a sixpence in her shoe, a traditional bagpipe player during the ceremony, & Don wore his very dapper military uniform (dress mess) which was covered in metals! The reception was held at the Officer's Club nearby, and when we arrived it was filled with their family & friends! At the reception they even cut the cake with a saber!!! I loved it!

I have so many favs from their wedding so I tried to narrow it down below...

The image on the program was designed by a local artist! I think the image I captured of the church matches perfectly!!
Photobucket

I LOVED that they had a saber arch after the ceremony! For those who don't know...Tradition dictates that as the bride and groom pass through the arch, the last two bearers drop their sabers or swords, forming a cross to block the path of the couple. The groom then kisses his bride. The crossed swords are raised for the couple to pass through. The bearer on the bride's side, as she passes by, gently swats the bride on the back side and says "Welcome to the Army, Ma'am." It was so cute!

Alexandria {Portraits}

Alexandria turned 1 on April 2nd, and what better way is there to remember you FIRST birthday than with pictures? Alexandria's parents are good friends of ours so when they asked if I'd do her birthday images I said Of Course!

Alexandria wasn't to thrilled with the new surrounding & bright lights...after she calmed down she started really working the camera. Although she didn't care for the hat daddy picked out or the wings that mommy picked out...or even the cake that they both picked out...I think she secretly enjoyed all the attention.

I got to try out my new pink & white backdrops and they came out great!

Here's some of my favs:

Page & Brent {Wedding}

We woke up to a rainy morning, but by the time we arrived in LaGrange, GA it stopped. The sun came out and the clouds went away just in time for Page & Brent's beautiful wedding at First Presbyterian Church. The church they were married in holds a lot of history in Page's family. Her grandparents were married there, and the bridal room is named after her grandmother, and then her parents were married there, and the kneeling bench was given in honor of her parent's marriage in 1975. Completely Amazing!

I can truly say their wedding day was perfect! From all of the details, decor, food, music, & people...it was an amazing day. I had to ask Page to send me the info on all her vendors because they did such a great job. The food and cake were FABULOUS and the flowers were exquisite and the band....I can't say enough about this band. I have never seen people dance all night long at a reception. They played old school music (My Girl, Shout, etc) and were AMAZING!! If you want a FUN reception, please contact this band! (*vendor info at bottom of this blog).

First here are some of my favorite images from their wedding:

Need Flowers, Food, Decor?

A while back I blogged about a company out of Covington, GA called Beyond Details. I wanted to re-introduce them to Columbus. If you are looking to really WOW your friends and family and you really want a unique and extravagant setting, then check out Beyond Details.

They posted images from a recent wedding they did (Go to Gallery & click on Bantin wedding). I can't say enough about how beautiful everything turned out! Beyond details is a 2-man show and they specialize in catering & florals. All the custom details such as the place cards, menu, programs were done by Pink Door Studios (website coming soon).

All of the flowers are real...yes even the gold ones which they hand painted to match her color scheme! And the food looks YUMMY!

I'm shooting a reception in Covington next month that Beyond Details is catering so I hope to see more of their great work!

Beyond Details will be hosting their next tasting on Sunday, April 19th. So if you have a chance, make time to visit them!
